Drop draw terms
Version 1.0. These terms apply to every free-entry draw run on a Seriously Rare drop page. The promoter is Nic Sunde, trading as Seriously Rare, Suite 151, Unit 7 Ladywood Works, Lutterworth LE17 4QN.
Free entry, no purchase necessary
Entry to a draw is free. There is no paid route in, and there never will be: you do not need to have bought anything, you do not need any particular Club tier, and what you have spent with us makes no difference at all. A Rare member and a Seriously Rare member have exactly the same chance.
If you would rather not enter through the website, email [email protected] before entries close, with the drop name and the email address on your account, and we will enter you by hand.
Equal chance
Every entry counts once and no entry counts for more than any other. The draw is made by a random process recorded in our database: we write down the seed the draw was made with and the entrants in the order it put them, so the result can be reproduced and checked afterwards. The seed and the full entrant and winner counts are published on the drop page once the draw has been made.
Who can enter
- You need a free Seriously Rare account with a confirmed email address.
- You must be 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom. We sell to collectors of every age, but a draw creates a contract and a payment obligation for the winner, so entry is for adults. A parent or guardian is welcome to enter and to buy for a younger collector.
- One entry per person and one per household. We check this by a one-way hash of the delivery address on your account — we never compare addresses themselves.
One unit per customer
Each drop declares up front how its units are split between Club early access and the free draw. You may have one unit per drop, whichever route it reaches you by. Buying in early access withdraws your draw entry; winning the draw closes early access for you. This is so that a drop reaches as many people as possible.
Winning and claiming
- Winners are emailed a claim link and must buy their unit at the ordinary price within the claim window stated on the drop page (normally 24 hours from the draw). Your unit is held for you for that whole window, and the exact deadline is in the email and on the claim page.
- Winning a place is free. Winning does not give you the item — it gives you the right to buy it at the price everybody else pays. Delivery is charged as usual.
- If you do not claim in time, the place is forfeited and the unit goes into a second draw among the entrants who were not picked the first time.
- Claim links are tied to the account that won. A forwarded link will not work for anybody else.
Abuse
We may void an entry, a win or an order where we reasonably believe there has been an attempt to get round these terms — for example several accounts created by one person, entries from one household under different names, or automated entry. Where we void a paid order we refund it in full. If you think we have got it wrong, email [email protected] and a person will look at it.
Points
Units bought through a drop, by either route, do not earn Club points. Points cannot be spent on a drop unit. Everything else in the Club terms applies as usual.
Data
To run a draw we process your account email address, your Club tier and a one-way hash of your delivery address. We publish entrant and winner counts and an anonymous member number for each winner — worked out from your account and that drop together, so the same person is a different number in a different drop. We never publish names, email addresses or addresses. See the privacy notice.
Our standing
These are free draws under Schedule 2 of the Gambling Act 2005 and are not licensed or regulated gambling. We are not a signatory to the DCMS Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators, which is aimed at paid prize-draw operators; we have borrowed its transparency ideas — published entry numbers, equal chance and a random process on record — because they are good practice.
General
We may change these terms for future draws; the version that applies to a draw is the one shown on its drop page when entries opened. Nothing here affects your statutory rights, and our decisions on the conduct of a draw are final. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
