Terms of sale
Plain English, and nothing here takes away the rights you have under UK consumer law. Last updated 29 September 2026.
1. Who we are
Seriously Rare is the trading name of Nic Sunde, a sole trader, established at Seriously Rare, Suite 151, Unit 7 Ladywood Works, Lutterworth LE17 4HD. Email [email protected]. We are not VAT registered. The Lutterworth address is for post and correspondence only: please do not send returns there. Pokémon and Pokémon character names are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK inc.; we are an independent retailer and not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
2. Ordering
Everything on the site is in English and priced in pounds sterling, with all taxes included. Delivery is charged on top and is shown on every product page, in your bag and again at checkout before you pay. We only deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom.
You must be 18 or over to place an order. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must place the order for you.
To order, add items to your bag, press Checkout and complete payment on our secure checkout, which is run by Stripe. You can change quantities or remove items in the bag at any point before you press Pay, and the checkout page shows everything again before you confirm. Pressing Pay places an order and commits you to paying for it.
We send an order acknowledgement by email straight away. Our acceptance of your order — and the point at which a contract is formed — is when we dispatch the goods. We keep a copy of each order; you can ask us for it at any time.
Occasionally a price or listing will be wrong. If we spot a clear pricing error before dispatch we will tell you and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund. If an item you ordered turns out to be unavailable (we sell single cards, so this can happen), we will refund it in full within 14 days and not substitute anything without asking you.
3. Payment
Payment is taken in full when you place the order, by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Revolut Pay or, where it is offered at checkout, PayPal, all through Stripe. We never see or store your card, Revolut or PayPal details.
Payments appear on your bank or card statement as SERIOUSLYRARE.CO.UK.
4. Delivery
We post orders by Royal Mail: Economy, Tracked 48 (£3.99, free when the goods come to £50 or more) or Fast, Tracked 24 (£5.99); Seriously Rare Club members may pay less at higher tiers, as set out on the Club page. Order before 2pm Monday to Friday and it's posted the same day; otherwise the next working day. Royal Mail's delivery estimates are two to three working days for Tracked 48 and one to two for Tracked 24, and we will always deliver within 30 days of your order. If we cannot, you can cancel and we will refund you in full.
The goods are our responsibility until they are in your hands. If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, tell us and we will replace or refund it — you never have to take that up with Royal Mail yourself. Full details are on the delivery and returns page.
5. Pre-orders
Where we offer an item for pre-order we show the expected release date. Payment is taken at the time of ordering to secure your item. Release dates are set by the publisher and can move; if that happens we will email you the new date. You can cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before it is dispatched, and if our allocation is cut and we cannot supply your order we will refund you in full rather than substitute.
6. Condition of cards
Single cards are second-hand collectables. We describe each card's condition using the grades explained on our condition guide, and where a card has a specific flaw we say what and where it is on the product page. That description forms part of the contract: a card sold as Lightly Played with "light edge wear on the back" is not faulty for having light edge wear on the back. Graded cards are sold with the grade given by the named grading company; that grade is their opinion, not ours, and we do not open or alter slabs.
Sealed product is sold as factory sealed. Cards inside a sealed pack, box or tin are a matter of chance; the product you are buying is the sealed item itself, and the contents are not a basis for a return or refund.
7. Your right to cancel (changing your mind)
As a consumer buying at a distance you can cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you receive it (if an order arrives in more than one parcel, from the day you receive the last one). You don't have to use it, but there is a model cancellation form at the bottom of this page. Just email [email protected] with your order number and say you'd like to cancel; we will confirm by email.
Then send the goods back to us within 14 days of telling us. The returns address is sent to you by email when the return is arranged (ask at [email protected]); it is not the Lutterworth postal address above. You pay the cost of return postage; we recommend a tracked service, and Royal Mail's proof of posting is free. We refund the price of the goods and the cost of our cheapest delivery option (Tracked 48) — not any upgrade to Tracked 24 — within 14 days of receiving the goods back or of you giving us evidence that you've sent them, whichever comes first, to the card you paid with.
You are entitled to look at the goods the way you could in a shop. If you go further than that and the goods lose value, we can deduct that loss from your refund. In practice this means: sealed product that has been opened will lose most or all of its value; a single card taken out of its sleeve and toploader or otherwise handled so its condition is no longer as we sent it will be refunded at the value it is now worth; a graded card whose slab has been opened or tampered with will be treated as an opened sealed item. Unopened sealed product and cards returned as we sent them are refunded in full.
8. Faulty or wrongly described goods
Separate from the right to cancel, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says everything we sell must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If something we send you isn't — a card that doesn't match its description or condition grade, damaged sealed product, or the wrong item — tell us within 30 days and you can reject it for a full refund, including delivery both ways. After 30 days you are still entitled to a replacement or, if we can't replace it, a refund. Send us a couple of photos first; it usually saves posting the item back at all. Any defect we noted in the listing is not a fault. Your rights last six years from the date of purchase.
9. If something goes wrong
Email [email protected]. You'll get a reply from the person who packed your order, normally within one working day, and we'll try to fix things fairly and fast. If we can't agree, you can take a complaint to your local Citizens Advice consumer service. We are not currently signed up to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme.
10. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and any dispute can be dealt with in its courts (or the courts of your home nation if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland). Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer. You can print or save this page; we may update it from time to time and the version in force is the one published when you ordered.
Model cancellation form
Only fill this in and return it if you wish to cancel the contract. You can copy it into an email.
